Prof. Dr. Haluk Recai ÜNALP was born in Merzifon in 1963.

In 1987, he graduated from Ankara GATA Faculty of Medicine.

He worked as Chief Physician and Health Branch Manager in Keşan 4th Infantry Division between 1987 and 1990.

He specialized in general surgery at Ankara GATA between 1990-1994.

Between 1996 and 1999, he worked as Chief Physician and General Surgery Specialist in Erzurum Oltu State Hospitals of the Ministry of Health.

Between 1999-2002, he worked as Chief Physician and General Surgery Specialist in Muğla Ortaca State Hospitals.

Between 2002 and 2011, he worked at İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital.

In 2012, he moved to Izmir University Faculty of Medicine and established the General Surgery Clinic and worked as the Founding President for 2 years.

In 2008, he became Associate Professor of General Surgery.

In 2015, he received the title of Professor.
